According to The Athletic's Shams Charania, Kuminga, aged 21, has lost faith in Kerr, especially after being benched for the final 18 minutes in the recent game against the Denver Nuggets.

In the crucial matchup against the Denver Nuggets, Kuminga, despite a strong performance, found himself on the bench during the game's decisive moments. Denver, trailing by 18 points in the final quarter, orchestrated a comeback, securing the win with a buzzer-beating three by Nikola Jokic. A source close to Kuminga revealed to Charania,
"(Thursday night) was the straw that broke the camel's back."

Kuminga, starting the game, contributed significantly with 16 points, four rebounds, and four assists in just 19 minutes. Kerr acknowledged Kuminga's performance, stating,
