Stephen Curry shared his thoughts on the referees' decision after the Golden State Warriors' nail-biting 141-139 victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder. In this intense NBA In-Season Tournament match, Curry's game-winning layup sparked discussions.

Curry's Take on the Game-Winning Shot

After the game, Stephen Curry expressed his relief as the officials ultimately ruled in their favor regarding his controversial game-winning layup. He described the moment, saying,
"It was hard for me to see the jumbotron and see the replays. I didn't see it in live because when I laid it up, I fell on the baseline, then I saw the ball go in. I saw Draymond [Green] was up there, and I couldn't tell if he touched the ball or not or getting grabbed the net or not."

"I think they called it no good at first... And that's where doubt crept in because I couldn't tell what camera angles we have. But thankfully, the referees got it right. Because if I'm not mistaken, [Green] grazed the rim and didn't touch the ball. Good basket."

Controversial Call Overturned

Curry's layup, which was a high shot off the glass with just 0.2 seconds left, was initially nullified when Green was called for a basket interference infraction. However, upon review, the officials declared Curry's basket as good, extending the Warriors' winning streak to four.

Why the Refs Ruled in Favor of Curry

Crew chief Mitchell Ervin clarified the decision in the NBA Official Pool report, explaining why Draymond Green wasn't penalized for offensive interference on the final possession. He stated,
"It was clear and conclusive evidence that Draymond does not touch the ball. Although Draymond does touch the rim, he does not touch the ball, nor does him touching the rim cause the ball to take an unnatural bounce; therefore, a basketball violation does not occur on the play."

Thrilling Victory

This game marked the second consecutive nail-biter for the Warriors on the road. Klay Thompson had previously secured a game-winning shot against the Sacramento Kings on November 1, with the same time left on the clock—0.2 seconds—as Curry's game-winner.

Curry's Performance

Stephen Curry finished the game with an impressive stat line of 30 points, eight rebounds, and seven assists. He played a pivotal role in this high-scoring contest against the Thunder, who were missing their star player, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, due to a knee injury.
