Zach LaVine is at the forefront of almost all trade rumors at the moment, and a surprising destination has emerged for the Bulls' two-time All-Star.

Thompson on the Way Out

The Warriors have now joined the LaVine sweepstakes. Amidst a six-game losing streak and sitting 10th in the Western Conference, the Warriors are considering changes. One of the primary reasons for their struggles has been the decline of one half of the Splash Bros. Klay Thompson is enduring the worst season of his career, and his Klay Thompson is enduring the worst season of his career to the Thunder has raised doubts about his future with the franchise.

Addition of Lavine

At 5 years younger and now in his prime, LaVine could potentially be brought in as another star to pair with Curry as he approaches the twilight of his career. Despite being 35 years old, Curry remains an elite scorer, averaging over 30 points per game this season. The Warriors aim to capitalize on any chance to compete for their fifth NBA Championship in the last decade.

NBA analyst Danny Chau of The Ringer believes that now is the time to move on from their historic core of Curry, Thompson, and Green and bring in LaVine, whom he praises as possessing everything that the Warriors currently need.

«LaVine can offer just about everything lacking in the Warriors offense,» Chau wrote. «Chris Paul no longer seems capable of reliably hitting shots—is this how the Warriors wash their hands clean of a potentially misguided oil-and-water experiment? At worst, acquiring a talent like LaVine could cost the team's soul. Would Golden State trade Thompson, one of the pillars of its dynasty, along with draft capital to right the ship? Is that unconscionable? Of course it is.»

Lavine Fit on Warriors

Although the Warriors aren't among Zach LaVine's four preferred destinations, a move to the Bay Area to play alongside a team as experienced as the Warriors is invaluable. They've showcased their ability to win championships with versatile wings like Harrison Barnes and Andrew Wiggins, who possess similarities to LaVine. Additionally, the fact that he is now entering his prime presents an opportunity for LaVine to become the face of the Warriors post-Steph Curry era.

The seriousness of any discussions between the Warriors and Bulls remains uncertain. However, given the availability of a star like LaVine at this moment, it would be unwise for the Warriors not to at least explore the possibility of a trade.
