LA Clippers' superstar Kawhi Leonard remains questionable for Game 1 against the Dallas Mavericks, but indications suggest he's unlikely to play in the series opener. Coach Tyronn Lue mentioned before Saturday's practice that Leonard has been able to shoot but won't engage in any contact drills ahead of Sunday's game.

While Lue couldn't confirm Leonard's availability for Game 1, the transition from limited contact on Saturday to playing in a playoff game the next day seems improbable. Paul George, another key player for the Clippers, hinted at preparing to compete without Leonard.

According to reports by Wojnarowski, doubts are mounting regarding Leonard's ability to play. Without official clearance, it appears Leonard would need a swift recovery to participate. In the event he remains sidelined, George and James Harden are likely to shoulder more offensive responsibilities, while P.J. Tucker and Amir Coffey could see increased playing time.

Further updates on Leonard's condition are anticipated closer to game time. George acknowledged the Clippers' injury challenges in recent seasons but maintained optimism, expressing belief in Leonard eventually rejoining the team.

In light of Lue and George's remarks, Leonard's participation in Game 1 appears increasingly uncertain, raising doubts about his availability for the series opener.
