In Sunday's 150-145 victory against Indiana, Reaves contributed 25 points (6-13 FG, 2-5 3Pt, 11-12 FT), along with five rebounds, eight assists, and one block during his 37 minutes on the court. Reaves showcased a versatile performance as the Lakers achieved their highest final score since 1987. The Oklahoma native bounced back to surpass the 20-point mark after averaging just 12.3 points in the previous three games. Notably, Reaves relied significantly on free-throw opportunities, with 11 of his points coming from the charity stripe, contributing substantially to the team's narrow victory.

Following the Los Angeles Lakers' victory against the Indiana Pacers, Austin Reaves discussed his camaraderie with Anthony Davis in an interview with NBA reporters.

''I just enjoy being his teammate,» Reaves said about Davis, via The Athletic. «He makes life so much easier for everybody on the court. His dominance of the game on both ends of the floor.''

Davis contributed 36 points, 16 rebounds, three assists, two steals, and one block, shooting 15-of-21 from the field, 1-of-2 from beyond the arc, and a perfect 5-of-5 from the free-throw line.

''I just try to read the defense,» Davis said. ''They were doubling me, (so I) make the right pass out and guys were making shots. They tried the one-on-one coverage, and I just tried to score the basketball.''

Davis is enjoying an exceptional season with the Lakers, boasting averages of 24.6 points, 12.5 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.2 steals, and 2.4 blocks. He maintains impressive shooting percentages of 55.8% overall and 81.2% from the free-throw line.

At 31 years old, Davis ranks 11th in the NBA for total points, 15th for points per game, third for rebounds, third for rebounds per game, fourth for blocks, and fifth for blocks per game.

Following their victory, the Lakers extended their winning streak to three games and clinched their fifth win in the last seven matches. Their current record stands at 39-32, marking the first time this season they've achieved a seven-game lead above .500. They now hold a 2.5-game advantage over the Golden State Warriors (36-34), securing ninth place in the Western Conference standings.

Notably, teams seeded 1-6 secure automatic qualification for the 2024 postseason, while seeds 7-10 participate in the play-in tournament.

''We'll put up a slide and look at the standings and see more so where we are and what we need to do in terms of winning games,» Lakers head coach Darvin Ham said. «And obviously, if you can win every game the rest of the way, that's great. That's always great. But different, unforeseen circumstances sometimes affect the outcome of going undefeated.''

The Lakers will embark on a road trip for their next six games, going head-to-head against the Milwaukee Bucks, Memphis Grizzlies, Indiana Pacers, Brooklyn Nets, Toronto Raptors, and Washington Wizards.
