Ongoing assessments of the dislocated right shoulder of New York Knicks forward Julius Randle provide a positive outlook for his return, sources from ESPN indicate.

The current expectation is a recovery period measured in weeks, not months, as Randle underwent an MRI on Saturday night. While the evaluation is still underway, there is optimism that he might bypass surgery and stage a comeback after a brief absence, as per sources.

The NBA All-Star break in mid-February provides a 10-day game gap for Randle and the Knicks, crucial after Randle's hard landing on his left shoulder in a recent victory against the Miami Heat.

Despite being a left-handed player, Randle has been a key figure in the Knicks' remarkable season, boasting 12 wins in 14 January games and averaging 24 points and 9.2 rebounds this season. Notably, Randle, who has played all 46 games this season and 95% of the franchise's games since 2019, faces an unexpected setback.
