On Saturday, Donte DiVincenzo posted 31 points and Miles McBride contributed 26 as New York triumphed over Brooklyn with a score of 105-93. Jalen Brunson and Isaiah Hartenstein each added 17 points for New York, with Brunson also tallying eight assists and Hartenstein grabbing nine rebounds. This victory marked New York's fifth win in six games.

Brooklyn suffered their sixth consecutive loss, despite Cam Thomas scoring 19 points and Mikal Bridges finishing with 18. At the start of the fourth quarter, Dennis Smith Jr. tied the game at 80 with a 3-pointer for Brooklyn. However, New York responded with a decisive 12-0 run. DiVincenzo led the charge with seven points, including two layups and a 3-pointer. Josh Hart contributed with a putback, and DiVincenzo sealed the run with another 3-pointer, extending New York's lead to 92-80 with 8:56 remaining.

Jalen Brunson's frustration was evident when he hit a deep 3-pointer with approximately three minutes left in the third quarter. Instead of his usual celebratory reaction, he simply raised his hands in exasperation, possibly directed at himself for a subpar shooting performance or his clear discontent with the officiating.

It was a challenging afternoon for Brunson as he struggled on the court. However, Deuce McBride and Donte DiVincenzo stepped up to fill the void, collectively scoring 57 points, including 10 three-pointers. With Patrick Ewing in attendance, McBride showcased his endurance by playing the entire 48 minutes and contributed 26 points on 9-for-16 shooting.

DiVincenzo delivered a stellar performance with 31 points on 12 of 24 shooting, including 13 points in the fourth quarter. His impressive layup in traffic capped off a 12-0 run, extending the Knicks' lead to 92-80 with eight minutes left in the game.

''It says a lot about them and I love the mental toughness of our team, the ability to persevere through things,» Thibodeau said. «When things aren't going our way, just keep going, then make it go our way and then in the end, find a way to win, whatever it is that we gotta do, that's what we have to do. And it's a credit to them. That's the makeup of these guys and their willingness to commit to play for the team first and put everything they have into it. It says a lot about them.''
