Philadelphia 76ers All-Star guard Tyrese Maxey missed the team's morning shootaround at Madison Square Garden on Monday due to an illness and is now listed as questionable for Game 2 against the New York Knicks. This development comes after Maxey played a crucial role in Game 1 of the first-round playoff series on Saturday night, scoring 33 points in 44 minutes. His performance was notable for his remarkable speed and ability to penetrate the defense, especially in the second half of the game.

However, Maxey's participation in the upcoming game remains uncertain as he was absent from Monday's session, and his condition will be evaluated closely as the game approaches. In the meantime, players like Cameron Payne, Kyle Lowry, and Buddy Hield might have to take on more responsibilities if Maxey cannot play. Meanwhile, Joel Embiid, who also had a dramatic moment in Game 1 after landing awkwardly from a one-handed dunk, was present at the shootaround. Embiid, still recovering from a knee procedure in February and dealing with an eye issue from Saturday's game, is also questionable.

The 76ers are aiming to level the series at one game each before returning to Philadelphia for the next two games. They have a history of advancing to the second round in five of the last six seasons and are eager to maintain that momentum.

On the other side, the Knicks are looking to take a 2-0 series lead, something they haven't achieved since their 2013 playoff series against the Boston Celtics—the only time they've managed that feat in this century. This sets the stage for a pivotal Game 2, with both teams dealing with key player uncertainties.
