The coach was frustrated by his team's failure to share the ball and their reliance on isolation plays, factors that led to their loss against the Timberwolves.

"Stats don't mean sh*t. I don't care about your individual stats. I don't care how many points you score. I don't care what you post on Instagram. Doesn't matter."

He continued :

"It's a team sport; you play to win. We have to nip this in the bud now because I have said this before, and I'll say it again: there will not be any free minutes in this program, [...] So you are either going to start learning, and you're going to start playing the right way, and you're going to start participating with your teammates, or you're not going to play."

Hardy has previously expressed similar sentiments to his players. Following a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers in November 2023, he emphasized the importance of commitment to the team, stating :

"If you're gonna wear a Utah Jazz jersey, you have to give a sh*t about the Utah Jazz."

In December of that year, he labeled his team's performance in a 50-point defeat against the Dallas Mavericks as a "masterpiece of dogsh*t." As of now, the Utah Jazz hold a record of 29-38, placing them 12th in the Western Conference standings.
