Report: Lonzo Ball to Command Massive Contract This Offseason

New Orleans Pelicans PG Lonzo Ball is set to enter restricted free agency this offseason. Entering the league, the only knock on Ball's game is that he was unable to shoot. Ball has since remedied this issue, becoming a top-tier three-point scoring threat. Recently it was reported that should be offered a significant contract, the Pelicans will let Lonzo Ball walk.

Today, the Athletic reported that Lonzo is expected to command a massive 4-year contract worth in excess of $100m. With previous reports in mind, it would be a safe bet to assume that Ball will be in a new uniform next year. Ball has also been linked to the Lakers recently as a potential sign-and-trade target for Dennis Schroeder, however, with his new valuation, this seems like an unlikely scenario.

The Knicks, Mavericks, Raptors, Heat, and Bulls are each expected to pursue Ball. With Portland guard Damian Lillard appearing to be off the market this offseason (for now), Lonzo figures to be one of the top players to follow in the 2021 offseason.
