Russell Westbrook to Los Angeles Lakers news shocked the whole NBA last night. The Los Angeles Lakers sent Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell Pope, Montrezl Harrell and their 22nd pick in 2021 NBA Draft to Washington Wizards in exchange for Westbrook.

Westbrook played his 13th NBA season and his lone season with the Washington Wizards after getting traded from Houston Rockets. Westbrook averaged a triple-double of 22.2 points, 11.5 rebounds and 11.7 assists in 65 regular games he played last season.

He and Bradley Beal led the Wizards to an 8th place finish but they were eliminated by Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of Eastern Conference playoffs.

Westbrook posted on Instagram his last message for the Wizards' fans after getting traded to the Lakers.

"Thank you, DC! You welcomed my family and I with open arms from day one. Everyone from the front office to the training staff, the coaches, my teammates, and the fans. I'm grateful y'all took a chance on me and supported me every step of the way. I'm blessed to have been a part of such a stand-up organization. It didn't take long to make a home in DC, and I will forever be grateful and appreciative of my experience with the organization. Thank you!"

Lakers will be Westbrook's third team in three years after playing one season each with the Rockets and Wizards.
