The 2022 EuroBasket Tournament Champions
Despite not having the complete roster, with limited superstar caliber players, that has helped Spain dominate the FIBA Basketball tournaments the past two decades, Spain, with its resilience and experience in international basketball, slithered their way to the finals, defeating a stacked French National Team to become the 2022 FIBA EuroBasket tournament champions.
The scoring was dominated by NBA players, Juan Hernangomez, a power forward recently traded to the Toronto Raptors, leading the way with 27 points.This is Spain's 4rth European Championship title, and coach Sergio Scariolo was present in all four championship victories.
It's easy to say that we are extremely happy...We got into this championship in eighth place in the power ranking and we managed to climb, step by step...It's been amazing now to see we are above all those great teams.
Spain has dominated the FIBA European tournaments since 1999 reaching the tournament finals 7 of the last 11 times.
