Watch: Blazers PR Shut Down Question About Chauncey Billups 1997 Sexual Assault Allegations

During his introductory press conference for the Portland Trail Blazers, Portland shut down a question about recent allegations of a Chauncey Billups 1997 sexual assault.

In 1997, Billups, who was a rookie for the Celtics that year, settled a civil case in which a woman alleged that he and his former Celtics' teammate, Ron Mercer, raped her.

Criminal charges were reportedly never filed, but police reports stated that a rape kit examination of the victim showed injuries consistent with sexual assault.


The Blazers have officially signed Billups to five-year deal earlier this week.
