James holds a $51.4 million player option for the 2024-2025 season, and according to The Athletic, the Lakers are "open to considering" the possibility of bringing in Bronny James as a rookie next season to ensure that the NBA's all-time leading scorer remains in Los Angeles.

While it remains uncertain whether Bronny will enter the 2024 NBA Draft, he is eligible to do so after completing his freshman season at USC. The Lakers are keenly aware that drafting Bronny would bring joy to his father, as reported by The Athletic.

Meanwhile, Bronny's performance doesn't align with that of a potential first-round pick in the 2024 NBA Draft. In fact, his contributions for the Trojans may not secure him a spot in the lottery, with averages of 5.8 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.6 assists per game over 16 contests, shooting just 35.6% from the field and 27.1% from three-point range.


Additionally, Bronny's season was impacted by a cardiac arrest in July, causing him to miss the start of the season before returning in December.
