Cleveland Cavaliers standout Donovan Mitchell could be sidelined for another week following a nasal fracture he suffered in a recent game against the Houston Rockets. The injury occurred during Saturday's matchup when teammate Tristan Thompson accidentally collided with him while vying for a loose ball.

The team announced on Tuesday that Mitchell underwent a procedure at the Cleveland Clinic to realign his nose and will undergo reevaluation in approximately seven days.

Mitchell opted to sit out Monday's game against the Indiana Pacers to address both his knee injury and the nasal issue. Despite receiving a platelet-rich plasma injection earlier in March to aid his recovery, Mitchell expressed frustration at his slower-than-expected progress.

The 27-year-old guard, who averages 27.4 points, 6.1 assists, and 5.3 rebounds per game, has been a key player for Cleveland this season.

The team, grappling with multiple injuries including those to starters Evan Mobley and Max Strus, remains competitive in the Eastern Conference, trailing the Milwaukee Bucks by just one game for the No. 2 spot. They are set to face the Miami Heat on Wednesday.
