After serving a 5-game suspension, Draymond Green has finally spoken out, revealing his thoughts regarding his discipline.

Draymond Chokes Gobert

During a recent matchup between the Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves, an on-court confrontation erupted between Klay Thompson and Jaden McDaniels. As the two clashed during transition, teammates from both sides quickly intervened, but the most notable incident involved Draymond, who began choking out Rudy Gobert.

It took up to 5 men to separate Green's hold on Gobert, resulting in his instant ejection from the game. Following the match, the NBA decided to extend his suspension for an additional 5 matches. Considering the Warriors were in the midst of a terrible run of form at the time, Green's suspension couldn't have come at a worse moment. Shockingly, however, he has revealed that he holds no regrets over his actions.

Draymond Green Responds to Suspension

Now that he has fully served his sentence, Green is expected to return to action tomorrow night against the Kings. Upon his return, Green has been asked about the whole situation, to which he showed zero remorse over his actions. Despite the negative impact on the team, Green is actually proud of what he did as it demonstrated loyalty towards his longtime teammate, Thompson.

«I don't live my life with regrets, Like I said before, I'll come to a teammate's defense anytime that I'm in a position to come to a teammate's defense. That's what a team is. You stick together through the good and the bad and I take that to heart. I take pride in being a good teammate.

Even though he remained firm about his actions, Green did acknowledge that there might have been a better way for him to defend his teammates. He then proceeded to explain a prejudice held against him due to past misbehaviors, citing his 2016 NBA Finals suspension as one example.

«I think the consensus amongst all of us is I'm going to be me no matter what and that's not going to change. But in saying that there's always a better way that something can be done and so figuring out a better way I think is the consensus amongst all of us..."

«I paid for those. I got suspended for Game 5 of the [2016] Finals»

Green has served as the defensive anchor for the Warriors for the last decade. With their current roster being as undersized as it has ever been, Green's impact is needed now more than ever. In response, head coach Steve Kerr has declared that this has to be the final distraction as the Warriors now aim to gear up and focus on the remainder of the season.
