The Warriors have struggled a lot this season, even with the excellence of the now 35-year-old Steph Curry, who is still playing at an elite level. Most of the woes have come from a depleted roster, with stars such as Chris Paul, Gary Payton, and Moses Moody all out injured, as well as Draymond Green missing substantial game time due to his recent suspension.

After serving his suspension, Green is now ready to return to action, much to the liking of numerous teammates and coaching staff who have all heaped the former DPOY with praise. They revealed how he will save the Warriors' season.

Warriors Without Green

While no longer the sharpshooter he was in the Warriors' championship-winning years, Green still holds tremendous value to this team. His value comes from his skill set on the defensive end of the court, as proven with his 8 All-Defensive selections. While it is widely known how good of a defender Green is, nobody quite expected how impactful the loss of a single player would destroy the Warriors' defense completely.

Without Green, the Warriors' defense has dropped exponentially, with them now ranking as the 2nd worst in the entire NBA. perhaps the most eye catching of their recent displays is that they have allowed opponents to make 71% of their shots at the rim. Greens return will undoubtedly improve this area of weakness however his biggest contribution upon returning will be his communication skills, where he asserts his high basketball IQ to guide his teammates into better defensive positions, much like a general on the battlefield.

Green actually shwocased his leadership ability in the recent loss to the Bucks where even from the bench Green was verbally active and giving defensive commands to his teammates. This earned huge praise from head coach Steve Kerr who said while helpful the best thing that green can do is return to the court himself.

"He was talking to [his teammates] about how to guard certain guys, which direction to send them," Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said after the game about Green's involvement from the bench.

"Draymond is a huge help, but I'm more looking forward to getting him back on the floor."

The Saviour

After Kerr's comments many other notable teammates also spoke out on how badly the team misses him on the court and how he helps each player individually. Green appeared humble in response claiming to not be any type of savior.

"Nothing ever just flips," Green told ESPN. "I don't look at myself as some savior, like this is going to save our defense or anything like that. I think I can help with communication.

"'And like with everything else, it's contagious."

Here are some of the other notable praises shared by teammates of Green;

"We're not the Warriors without him," - Klay Thompson

"The lack of communication leads to lack of trust," Warriors guard Stephen Curry told ESPN. "You have to give up something in the league, whether it's one of the weaker shooters, whether you're blitzing the guy that has the hot hand or their go-to, helping on drives.

"But if you don't trust each other, there isn't just going to be one breakdown, but the second one and the third one."
