Chris Paul confirmed he'll be back for his 20th NBA season later this year before the Golden State Warriors' last game on Tuesday.

''I'll talk to my wife and my kids, my family, my support system, see what it looks like,'' Paul told The Athletic. ''But this isn't (the end of my career). I know it for sure.''

Hours later, the Golden State Warriors lost to the Sacramento Kings, sealing the end of their season with a 118–94 defeat. In his 19th NBA season (and first with Golden State) Paul posted averages of 9.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 6.8 assists in 58 games, coming off the bench in 40 of them.

At 38, Paul remains under contract with the Warriors until the 2024–25 season, although neither party has confirmed his future with the team. A 12-time All-Star, Paul has played for six NBA teams throughout his career.

The Warriors' choice to retain Paul is made complex by owner Joe Lacob's goal to keep the team below the anticipated $172 million luxury tax limit. Currently, the roster is committed to approximately $174 million for the next season, making it necessary to shed salary to accommodate Paul or potentially re-sign Klay Thompson, who is an unrestricted free agent.

Paul mentioned to Slater that he hadn't considered his destination for the 2024-25 season amid the Warriors' playoff push.
