Earlier this month, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported that Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant had parted ways with his long-time agent, Jim Tanner. As one of the league's brightest young talents, Morant's decision to switch representation garnered significant attention. Now, Morant has enlisted Mike Miller of Lift Sports Management as his new agent, joining Paolo Banchero and Wendell Carter Jr. under Miller's representation. Previously, Morant was under the guidance of Jim Tanner.

Morant solidified his commitment to the Grizzlies by signing a five-year, $193 million extension during the 2022 offseason, ensuring his presence in Memphis until 2028. Selected as the second pick in the 2019 NBA Draft from Murray State, Morant has swiftly emerged as one of the premier guards in the league.

Despite facing setbacks, including a suspension and injuries that limited his appearances to nine games in the past season, Morant showcased his prowess in the 2022-23 campaign. Averaging 26.2 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 8.1 assists per game, Morant's contributions propelled the Grizzlies to consecutive playoff appearances.

Despite their absence from the 2024 NBA playoffs due to injuries and a 27-55 record, the Grizzlies remain a team on the ascent. With a talented roster featuring Desmond Bane, Jaren Jackson Jr., and Marcus Smart, Memphis is poised to contend for a top-four seed in the competitive Western Conference if they can regain full health for the upcoming season.
