Little did the public know that two months later, Converse would announce an extension with Gilgeous-Alexander, including plans for a signature shoe launch in 2025.

As part of the new agreement, Gilgeous-Alexander assumes the role of Creative Director for the brand, granting him the opportunity to contribute ideas and insights into future products. This partnership signifies a significant development in his relationship with Converse.

Earlier this year, Gilgeous-Alexander played a pivotal role in the relaunch of the iconic Converse Weapon, marking a historic moment in basketball history. This partnership, dating back to 2020, has seen Gilgeous-Alexander following in the footsteps of legends like Larry Bird and Magic Johnson, contributing to Converse's resurgence as a premier basketball brand.

Currently, Gilgeous-Alexander and the Oklahoma City Thunder are awaiting their first-round opponent in the 2024 NBA playoffs. As the Western Conference's top seed, the Thunder will face either the New Orleans Pelicans or the Sacramento Kings, with the series set to commence on Sunday night.
