Damian Lillard Ruled Out For Upcoming Bucks Fixture

Just hours before tip off against the Utah Jazz the Milwaukee Bucks have revealed that star point guard Damian Lillard will not be playing.

Lillard to Miss the Jazz Game

Lillard will be joining teammates Jae Crowder and Cam Payne as all three sit out tonight. However, unlike his teammates, Lillard is not currently suffering from an injury but is listed as out due to personal reasons.

The specific reason could fall into several categories, so there is no point in speculating. However, one could question whether or not Lillard was dealing with these same personal issues during his latest game. He struggled offensively against the Rockets in a 112-108 loss on Saturday night. Lillard was far from himself in the matchup, making only one of his eight shots from the field and having a -11 point differential over his 38 minutes of action.

Lillard Fit on the Bucks

With championship expectations, the Bucks aim to achieve full chemistry by the playoffs, so Lillard's swift return to the lineup is preferred. Nonetheless, he has already proven to be a great fit despite his short time with the team.

Following his departure from the Trailblazers and arrival at the Bucks, Lillard has averaged 25.1 points and 6.9 assists per game. While his scoring is slightly lower than what we're used to seeing from Dame, it remains highly impressive considering the smaller role he has assumed behind Giannis Antetokounmpo. In fact, Lillard's 25 points per game is the highest among all of the Greek Freak's teammates in his entire career, and is also the only one to average more than 21 per game.

With over half the season remaining, Lillard and the Bucks are poised to improve further, solidifying a genuine second option behind Giannis. This development should undeniably place them among the top title contenders this year.
