NBA executive urges the Lakers to get these 2 players.

The Los Angeles Lakers have started 1-5 in this early NBA season and every laker fan is looking for a solution to this horrible start.

It was widely known they were going to struggle this year, but after the 1-5 start it is causing panic amongst the Lakers organization.

One NBA Western conference executive spoke to Sean Deveney of Harvey Sports, and mentions 2 NBA stars that the Lakers should go after to change the dynamics of the team.

The first one is Miami Heat guard and elite shooter Max Strus who according to exec will be a bargain next year.

Strus will be a bargain next year, even though he's been good in Miami, he will be undervalued.

The other play is Toronto Raptors sniper Gary Trent Jr, whom the Raptors acquired from the Blazers via a Norman Powel trade.

They should be smart and go for multiple players. Role players, guys like (Max) Strus, or bringing back Josh Hart and maybe going for Gary Trent (Jr.) if he opts out in Toronto.

Thats what the Lakers need, elite catch and shoot players who can guard at the other end as well. That is the gameplan with Lebron, to surround him with shooters and let him find the open man.

The Lakers had KCP and Caruso back in 2020 in the bubble, yet they lost them both to free agency and didn't really replace them the following year. The Lakers have the worst offensive rating in the league so far.

The NBA exec goes on to say

Trent, though, he is probably the best fit for them. He is a really strong perimeter defender and he is such a good shooter—they have not had that kind of guy since they got rid of (Kentavious Caldwell-Pope) and Danny Green.

Though, neither of those guys is the shooter Trent is. Trent might be out of their price range if they want to get two guys. Those are the guys they need, and if they could bring in more than one, that would be best for their situation.

These are 2 very interesting players to consider for the Lakers. It is exactly who they need to compete again. Shooters shooters shooters will solve all with a Lebron James led team.
