Team USA Receives a Shake-Up

Team USA is looking awfully different these days.

Kevin Love has withdrawn from the American Olympic team and will not travel to Tokyo to be part of the summer games, it has been reported. This comes just days after Bradley Beal also dropped out of the team upon entering COVID-19 health and safety protocols. The players have been replaced by Keldon Johnson and JaVale McGee, two players who have proven their worth time and time again in the NBA and will surely benefit the troubled Team USA.

Kevin Love played for Team USA before, back in the 2012 London Olympics. During those games, the Cavs star put up 11.6 points and earned an impressive 61 rebounds in eight games, helping to secure a gold medal for the team.

Team USA has had it rough so far. They surprisingly lost their first two exhibition games and some have wondered if they have what it takes to win the gold in Tokyo with so many powerful teams from all over the world competing. Does America still have a firm grip on Olympic basketball glory or will this year be a struggle?
