Vanessa Bryant, the spouse of late Los Angeles Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant, won a judgement worth sixteen million in her lawsuit against Los Angeles County after first-responders that reported the helicopter crash that took the life of Kobe and eight others shared snap shots of Kobe and Gianna Bryant's bodies inside private channels.

«From the beginning, Vanessa Bryant has sought only accountability, but our legal system does not permit her to force better policies, more training or officer discipline,» her attorney Luis Li said in a statement. «Those measures are the responsibility of the sheriff's and fire departments — responsibilities that Mrs. Bryant's efforts have exposed as woefully deficient, even giving amnesty to the wrongdoers.» (h/t TMZ)

Here are some excerpts of the same here is an excerpt of her emotional testimony.

"I felt like I wanted to run down the block and scream," she said in the courtroom. "I can't escape my body. I can't escape what I feel... I trusted them. I trusted them to not do these things."

After saying that the sherrifs that took the pictures probably had to move Kobe's body off Gianna's to get pictures of her, Vanessa said, "They took advantage that Daddy couldn't protect her. He was at the morgue."

"I don't ever want to see my babies in that way," she said, explaining to the courtroom that she lives in constant fear that the photos could surface. "Nobody should ever have to see their family in that way." (h/t TMZ)

A page can finally be turned and Vanessa will be able to put more time and dedication into her foundation. The tragic accident that happenned on January 26, 2020 will be forever a scar in every NBA fan and in everyone who knew the Bryant family.
