The Toronto Raptors' star RJ Barrett Will Be sidelined Indefinitely Due To A Family Tragedy.
RJ Barrett was not present during Wednesday's game against Detroit due to personal reasons, grieving the loss of his younger brother, Nathan Tyler Barrett, according to the team's announcement. The Raptors have not disclosed Nathan's age or cause of death, but they noted in their statement that he was surrounded by loved ones and members of his church at the time of his passing.
"It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the loss of our beloved son and brother, Nathan Tyler Barrett, who passed away on Tuesday, March 12, surrounded by his family, church and friends."

There's no set timeline for Barrett's comeback, and rightly so; he deserves all the time he needs.
As a Toronto native, Barrett has excelled since joining the Raptors, averaging 20.8 points, 6.2 rebounds, and four assists per game, with a 41.7% shooting from beyond the arc since the trade. Alongside Scottie Barnes and Immanuel Quickley, he's considered integral to the team's future.
