After the Boston Celtics' 127-112 victory over the Phoenix Suns on Wednesday night, Jrue Holiday expressed admiration for Al Horford's performance. The 37-year-old center scored 24 points, marking his highest point total since the 2022 playoffs.

"He's the O.G., He's probably the most reliable player I've ever played with."

Even with advancing age, Horford remains a reliable asset for Boston. Though his statistics may not dazzle as they once did, the veteran consistently demonstrates his worth on the court. By strategically sitting out on back-to-back games, the seasoned player maintains averages of 7.9 points, 6.6 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and a block per game, all while clocking in at a career-low 26.7 minutes per game.

Holiday added :

"I think being able to be on the court with him is an honor, Being out there with him, I just know everything is going to go well. Every time he gets on the court you just know he's going to do something great."

Making his debut off the bench, a rarity in his career with just 25 starts this season, Horford has been instrumental in guiding Boston's second unit. Despite concerns over the team's depth at the season's outset, Horford's veteran presence appears to be the cohesive force binding them together. Even when inserted into the starting lineup, he seamlessly transitions into his role.

Beyond his noteworthy scoring performance, Horford contributed across multiple categories, securing three rebounds, three assists, three steals, and a block, all pivotal in securing Boston's victory. Demonstrating his efficiency, he achieved his 24-point tally on 8-14 shooting, including an impressive 6-10 from beyond the arc.

With a two-day break ahead, the top-seeded Celtics (52-14) will resume their road trip against the Washington Wizards (11-55) on Sunday at 6 p.m. ET.
