According to ESPN sources, discussions are underway between the Nets and assistant coach Kevin Ollie regarding the interim head coaching position, with further talks anticipated today. Ollie, boasting a 13-year NBA playing career, secured the NCAA championship as UConn's coach in 2014.

He joined the Nets this season after a two-year stint leading Overtime Elite.

The Nets currently occupy the 11th spot in the Eastern Conference, falling short of the playoff contention. Despite making several trades in recent years, including the departure of Spencer Dinwiddie, their recent 50-point defeat to the Celtics before the All-Star break has prompted them to consider a coaching staff shake-up.

Ollie, who coached UConn to an NCAA title in 2014, was a finalist for the Detroit Pistons' head coaching job earlier this year. Now, joining Jacque Vaughn's revamped coaching staff for the Nets, he brings extensive NBA experience and leadership.
