World Champion Boxer Reveals Hilarious Michael Jordan Story

Despite last playing over 20 years ago, Michael Jordan remains the most famous face in all of basketball. Being such an icon to so many, he has undoubtedly met numerous A-list celebrities and athletes, all with very unique tales to tell; however, the most recent story could possibly be Jordan's most funny encounter yet.

Encounter With World Champion

The latest MJ story comes from a former world champion in Andre Ward. Ward, who is now retired, went undefeated in his 32-fight career, which saw him win world titles in both the super middleweight and the light heavyweight divisions. Once ranking as the world number one pound-for-pound boxer, it is safe to say that he is undoubtedly one of the toughest men on the planet. Yet, after meeting Jordan, it was the Chicago Bull who dominated the room.

After appearing on the 'All the Smoke' podcast, Ward revealed that in a business meeting between both stars' teams, Jordan was immediate to call out one of Ward's friends.

Jordan Lashes Out

The cause for Jordan's outburst was due to one person wearing Adidas shoes. Jordan, known globally for his Air Jordan brand, which mostly deals in shoes, took personal offense to somebody endorsing a competitor's brand in front of him. It almost made the man take his shoes off at the beginning of the meeting.

"This how cold Mike is, though. ... He come in there scanning shoes, as soon as he came in. .... They take, like, people that's in that industry, oh, it's serious," Ward said. "So, he came in. 'What's up, Mike?' ... (Jordan:) 'What's up with your man?' I'm like, 'What you mean?'

Jordan is widely known as one of the most competitive people ever, with infamous stories about his trivial problems over things like brands he endorses. In fact, this is not even the first time he has gone viral for his distaste over Adidas. In the 1992 Olympics, Team USA clothing was made by Adidas, and Jordan famously covered up the logo in the ring ceremony by holding a United States flag over the top of it.

Now, over 30 years later, it seems Jordan still feels exactly the same about rival brands. But hilariously, nobody expected him to call it out in a private business meeting, especially against somebody like a world champion boxer.
