Lately, the Western Conference playoff scenario has become clearer. However, the Golden State Warriors find themselves in 10th place, teetering on the edge of the play-in tournament. Their position isn't secure, especially with the Houston Rockets boasting a nine-game winning streak. Just one more victory for the Rockets could push the Warriors out of playoff contention.

As Houston's winning streak surged, Golden State's fortunes dipped. In their last nine games, the Warriors have lost six, creating an opportunity for the Rockets to snatch the last spot in the Western Conference Play-In. Presently, the Warriors cling to a slim half-game lead over the Rockets for the 10th seed. Despite a valiant effort in Sunday's narrow loss to the Timberwolves, All-Star guard Stephen Curry played just 30 minutes. Head coach Steve Kerr emphasized that the burden of the playoff race shouldn't rest solely on Curry's shoulders.

''We can't expect to just ride Steph game after game after game," Kerr told the media. "These last few weeks have been really tough on him. We've put the burden of this franchise on his shoulders for 15 years If you want to say that him playing 30 minutes instead of 32 is a difference in a win and a loss, I totally disagree with that.''

Curry maintains his standard brilliance with a team-leading 26.8 points per game, but support has been lacking. While Kuminga shines, Thompson's season has been inconsistent. Green and rookie Podziemski offer contributions, but Paul's injuries and Wiggins' absence add to the challenges. Golden State's season has been marked by inconsistency, and now they face a battle to secure a Play-In Tournament berth.

The Warriors have 12 games left, with a pivotal game against the Rockets on April 4. According to Tankathon, Golden State has the sixth most favorable schedule, contrasting with the Rockets, who face tougher opponents.

As of March 25, Basketball-Reference's Playoff Probabilities Report shows the Warriors with a 23.3 percent chance of reaching the playoffs, while the Rockets have an 8.0 percent chance. The Ringer predicts an 88 percent chance for Golden State to make the Play-In Tournament and a 21 percent chance to secure a playoff spot.
