After the Minnesota Timberwolves' 107-101 win over the OKC Thunder, Anthony Edwards (33-14) voiced frustration with the officiating. Despite his impressive 27-point performance, Edwards criticized the Thunder's top-five defense, expressing discontent with the referees' decisions during the game.

«Imma take this fine, but the refs did not give us no calls tonight. Cheating a** referees. »

Edwards told ESPN without prompting.

In their prior encounter before Monday night's rematch, the Wolves faced a setback on their home court, stumbling in the fourth quarter and succumbing to a 102-97 defeat.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander frequented the free-throw line, converting 12 out of 13 attempts without incurring a personal foul. This contributed to the Thunder attempting 35 free throws compared to the Wolves' 29. Anthony Edwards candidly shared his thoughts on defending against the Thunder, especially SGA.

«It's hard to with the calls that Shai gets. It's hard to shut him down. You can't touch him at any time of the game, so it's super hard to beat, That team is a good team, especially when they get calls like that.»

Edwards told reporters after the game.

While Edwards' comments on officiating surprised some, it's essential to acknowledge that Gilgeous-Alexander has consistently excelled throughout the season in earning trips to the free-throw line.
