Huge Problem with the Dejounte Murray Trade

It's no secret: The Lakers want Dejounte Murray. They are confident they are going to get him. Over the past week there have been some issues with this. First Deangelo Russel has been playing for his job, playing for his life and he has been playing beautifully. He is making is very hard for the Lakers to get rid of him.

Now another breaking development has put a wrench in the Lakers plans. Atlanta coach Quin Snyder does not want to lose Dejounte Murray, he wants him to stay in Atlanta.

The sticking point and the reason it hasn't happened yet is Russell and finding a third team to take him. Atlanta does want him in return and the Lakers do not want to hang on to his $18.7 Million Player Option.

Murray, whose four year, $120 million contract extension kicks in next season, is having another fine season with the Hawks, averaging 21.4 points, five rebounds, 5.1 assists and 1.3 steals while playing his usual solid two-way game, and it seems like Snyder is reluctant to give up just yet on the backcourt of Dejounte and Trae Young. The Hawks, however, are just 19–27 this season and it appears that the front office is ready to move on from that experiment.
