You would think the Lakers would take some time off to relax after the blockbuster trade that landed them Russell Westbrook. But according to Bleacher Report's Jake Fischer, that isn't the case.

Fischer was giving insight into the trade season on Reddit and revealed that the Lakers are still trying to sign a few major free agents.

Fischer said that Carmelo Anthony and Rudy Gay are "definitely the loudest names being rumored to the Lakers."

Both Anthony and Gay are veteran players who have plenty of time in the spotlight. They would definitely bolster the Lakers bench and would add some wisdom and knowledge to the younger players' game.

Anthony has been linked to the Lakers for a while now, namely because he is friends with LeBron. The 37-year-old Trail Blazer averaged 13.4 points and 3.1 rebounds last season.

Rudy Gay put up 11.4 points and 4.8 rebounds per game for the Spurs last season. As you can see, either of these stars would add extra strength for the Lakers who are hoping to return to the Finals after winning two seasons ago and then getting wiped out in the first round of the playoffs last season.
