NBA Insider Made a Bold Claim About Kyrie Irving

The Brooklyn Nets have been a notoriously hard franchise to glean inside information from in recent years, however, NBA insider Matt Sullivan was able to gather enough information to drop a bombshell in his new book «Can't Knock the Hustle».

Sullivan, whose recent book appears to be stirring the pot in many NBA circles, was the same insider that reported on Steve Kerr's grievances with Kevin Durant's Twitter antics. This time, Sullivan is claiming that Nets Superstart and 2016 NBA champion Kyrie Irving has the power to trade his teammates, but not just based on basketball issues.

«Kyrie was empowered enough to swap guys off the Nets' roster for this season because they didn't necessarily agree with his politics or his view of player empowerment...»

Sullivan, however, doesn't claim outright that Irving has actually put his power over the Nets front office into practice. Based on their transaction history this season, the only time where it appears that this may have occurred is in the Nets deal to acquire James Harden from the Houston Rockets in January, which saw the following players dealt: Jarrett Allen, Rodions Kurucs, Caris LeVert, and Taurean Prince.

Regardless of whether Irving has taken part in the Nets trade talks, his name will undoubtedly swirl any time a Nets trade is mentioned until his tenure in Brooklyn is complete.
